Seniors Krav Maga

Seniors Krav Maga

Krav Maga is a self-defense system that adapts to everyone. Yet our regular classes are physically challenging and the intensity is sometimes an obstacle for our older students who love the classes but find it difficult to keep up with certain drills or subjects.
In September 2019, Krav Maga Ottawa is launching its first ever Krav Maga program specially adapted to students over 55-year-old who want to learn practical self-defense in a context that takes into consideration their physical limitations. This is a pilot program and we are starting with a twelve-week session from Tuesday, September 17th to Friday, December 13th 2019.
How is Seniors Krav Maga different from the regular Adults All Levels program?
  • Lighter warm-ups
  • Less demanding drills
  • Simplified techniques (i.e. kicks only to lower body)
  • A slower pace so everyone can participate regardless of physical shape
  • No ranks or tests
  • No combat
  • A compact program that focuses on the most common problems
Who can join?
You can join Seniors Krav Maga if you are 55 year-old or more, have been cleared by a doctor for moderate exercise and have good mobility. It is still Krav Maga so there will be some kicking and ground work so at this point we cannot accommodate students with serious mobility problems
When are the classes?
Starting Tuesday, January 14th, 2019 classes will be taught:
  • Tuesday, 6:00PM to 7:00PM
  • Friday, 6:00PM to 7:00PM
What do I need to start?
To join the program, you need comfortable clothes and indoor running shoes. Male participants must wear groin protection (a jockstrap)
How much are the classes?
The entire winter session (twelve weeks, 25 hours) is $339.00 with an early-bird registration fee of $300.00 (before December 1st, 2019)
