WOMEN SELF-DEFENSE: FALL SESSION 2026

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13TH TO SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6TH, 2026 (Twelve Classes)

Our Women Self-Defense course is our most popular program and we have trained over 2,000 women in the Nation’s Capital Region in the last 12 years.

Taught by Krav Maga International Expert and former psychotherapist Laurent Mougeot, the course offers true empowerment for women and girls. That means learning skills that can actually be applied in the real world.

Our goal is to teach you to set boundaries, channel aggression and recognize danger, as well as survive the most common dangerous situations. All women who have completed the course have reported a massive boost in confidence.

This book is the fruit of 40 years of practice of martial arts, 36 years of practice of Krav Maga and 22 years of teaching the system to thousands of students and Instructors worldwide.

It is also heavily influenced by my 16 years career as a psychotherapist specializing in addiction and family violence.

Finally, my violent youth in France and many street fights growing up in a dangerous neighborhood have informed my understanding of violence and self-defense.

This book is my testament and my legacy. It is about Krav Maga of course but also violence, psychology and the art of teaching; it is NOT a teaching manual and does not pretend to be. It is something different all together.

I started taking Krav Maga a year ago to spend some time doing an activity with my brother and also because I work in an unsafe part of town, finishing most of the time when it's dark out. I hated doing my sprint to the car worrying about what would happen. Thanks to Krav Maga, I no longer worry about that. I'm more aware of my surroundings, and confident in my ability to get out of, or avoid any situations that may arise. Participating in a class with males also helps to reassure me that I can throw someone off of me who's twice my size too. An added bonus is that the class has greatly helped my aerobic fitness and strength. All around, it's been a great decision!
